Records

The Banning Police Department’s Records Division consists of one Lead Records Specialist, one full time Records Specialist. Their duties include: preparation of court paperwork, report filing, data entry, making copies of reports for the public and insurance companies, front counter contacts, collecting and reporting crime statistics to the Department of Justice, and maintaining compliance with the California Public Records Act.

The Police Department lobby is open from 8am to 4pm Monday - Thursday as staffing allows. The Records Division can be reached at our non-emergency line during these hours at (951) 849-1005.

A typical crime report, and all other reports are usually accessible to the public in an average of 10 to 14 business days. Fatal traffic collision reports involve further investigation and will take more time to complete
